Sightseeing in New York
It might seem obvious but if you ever visit New York, you need to see the Statue of Liberty and go to the top of the Empire State Building. The views from both of these places are absolutely stunning and are great places to take pictures from for the holiday album! The Empire State Building has very speedy lifts that will take you right to the top, however, there are a number of stairs to climb in the Statue of Liberty and if it's hot, it makes this journey a bit more of a struggle.
If you want to see these tourist attractions in a more relaxing atmosphere then take a bus tour around New York. One of the best tours (and my personal favourite) is the New York by night tour; this gives you a chance to see some stunning views of the Empire State building, Manhattan Bridge, the Rockefeller Center and lots more! All these tourist attractions are lit up, making them even more amazing sites to see at night. It is even possible to go to the top of the Empire State Building in the evening to see the bright lights of New York because it doesn't close until the early hours of the morning.
Another must when in New York is to shop til you drop! There are shops for everyone's budgets. Madison Avenue is where you will find the high end designer shops including, Gucci, Prada and Chanel or if you're looking for prices that won't break the bank then try the Lower East Side and find some bargains! If you'd prefer something a bit closer to home then, Topshop New York has just recently opened on Broadway and Broome and it will be receiving daily deliveries, so you can find Topshop pieces that no one in the UK will have!
One of the best ways to spend an evening in New York, is to watch a show on Broadway. Ticket prices vary depending on seats, but you can find cheaper ones online. Some of the current shows include Wicked, Billy Elliot and Mama Mia. The Lion King is also being shown, which is a definite must see, the costumes and make-up in this musical are just amazing!
New York is a great place to visit because there is so much to do and see! If you want to find out more on places to stay in New York then read a New York travel guide for some hotel reviews. It might also recommend some great places to eat too!
