Walking Tours Manhattan Adds New Food Tours
WalkingToursManhattan.com has introduced new food walking tours to help enhance the sightseeing experience when visiting the Big Apple. Food tours were added to Greenwich Village, Lower East Side, and SoHo/Little Italy/Chinatown. Restaurants and local shops were selected to help bring the feel of the neighborhood across through it's unique foods, and visiting major landmarks too.
Night Lights Food Tour The city comes alive at night, when its illuminated icons seem even more striking. Our 4 course dinner begins in Union Square and finishes up at Rockefeller Plaza, where the world's largest Christmas tree arrives in early December. Our first course is hot chocolate from Max Brenner Chocolates, followed by a delicious pulled pork sandwich from Sophies Restaurant .Then a real New York hot dog from 2nd Avenue Deli, and dessert is an authentic cheesecake from the famous Junior's Restaurant. We'll visit the following buildings bathed in light; Metropolitan Life Tower, Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Bank of America Tower, and Radio City Music Hall. Dinner included in tour cost.
Greenwich Village Tour participants will visit the original Magnolia Bakery, the most famous cupcake bakery in the city, with 3 new stores in Rockefeller Center, Upper West Side, and Grand Central Terminal. Hudson Bagel an independently owned New York institution for 7 years, with only 1 location, making a fresh, hand-rolled bagel with cream cheese. Surya Indian Restaurant on Bleecker Street broadens the international scope of the Village's restaurants offerings with delicious vegetable rolls, a highly-rated Zagat choice. Joe's Pizza, an institution on Carmine Street since 1974, always drawing big crowds ensuring the freshest slice in town. Mamoun's Middle Eastern Restaurant has been in business for over 30 years and knows the receipe for the best falafel served with a light and flavorful yogurt sauce. And saving the best for last, all the locals rush to Rocco's for dessert, and their hand-piped cannoli. In addition to the shops and restaurants above, you'll visit New York University, Washington Square Park, Blue Hill Restaurant, where the Obama's had dinner, and the Jefferson Courthouse.
SoHo/Little Italy/Chinatown Have a full lunch from 6 unique food places in 3 neighborhoods. Starting with Grandaisy's made on premises zucchini pizza focaccia, Baltazar's french style chocolate chip cookie, DiPalo's fresh cheeses, plus soppresata, an Italian salami, and Ferara's cannoli. Then we'll have Fried Dumplings, and Fay Da's egg custard. SoHo is known for its high-end designer shops, Little Italy's abundance of restaurants and Chinatown for discount shopping. 6 course lunch included in tour cost.
Lower East SideHave a full lunch from 6 authentic New York originals; a hot dog from Katz's Delicatessen, Yonah Schimmel's potato knish, Pickle Guys' sour pickle, Kossar's bialys, Sugar Sweet Sunshine's cupcakes plus Doughnut Plant's gourmet blackout with chocolate glaze. This historic neighborhood chronicles the beginnings of immigration. Visit the still operational Streit's Matzo Factory, Lower East Side Tenement Museum and more. 6 course lunch included in tour cost.
