Cheap Disneyland Vacations

1) Expedia.com

Expedia is an easy to use website and provides tons of useful information. Site includes Disney maps, video previews and sample trip itineraries. Expedia always has special offers and deals. Such deals include Free Disney Gift Card, Special Bonus Tickets, and of course reduced prices. The site allows the user to book the entire trip including car rental, plane tickets, hotels and even park tickets. There is also a 1-800 number to call if you need help, which is what I used to book my trip. The woman who helped me book my trip was Stacy and she made the whole process painless. I would defiantly use Expedia again in future travels. A flight and hotel package for 2 adults and 2 children from NYC airport JFK for a weeklong trip can be found for as little as $400 a person. My rating is an A.

2) Travelocity.com

Upon arrival to the website you will notice that it is bland and generic. The website's generic layout could be a sign of Travelocity's commitment to low prices. I have not personally used the site but I have heard good reviews. The success of Travelocity may be due to its unique marketing and ability to deliver low prices. The Travelocity Gnome is known around the world and showcases the sites experience in travel. Another nice feature is the "Last Minute Packages" which allows users to book a trip in a hurry. My rating is an A-.

3) Disneyvacations.com

Disney Vacations is the site created by the Disney Corporation. This is the most expensive choice of the three but others the most information. Everything Disney related can be found on the website. The best feature is the ability to order a "Disney Vacation Planning DVD" FREE of charge from Disney. The DVD includes everything about the parks and hotel that there is to know. The website is completely dedicated to Disney and allows the user to become more excited about the trip. If you are planning a trip with children be sure to show them this website because it will get them the most excited. Current offers include buy 4 nights get 3 free, adult's tickets at kid's prices and 35% off of Disney Resort Hotels. My rating is a B for price but an A for information and excitement.

Tips for a better trip

1) Timing is crucial! Try to avoid going during the holidays because many families go during this time. Summer months are usually painfully hot so take that into consideration when bringing small children. Winter months are usually the least crowded but the weather isn't as nice. Before booking a trip weigh the pros and cons to the time you want to go.

2) Don't over plan your trip. It is easy to set up an itinerary hour by hour when planning your trip. Itineraries are nice but hard to follow especially with children. Go with the flow and your family will surely thank you.

3) Look at the park calendar. Check out which events are occurring and at what sections of the park. Your children may love a certain Disney character and it would be a shame to miss anything. Taking part in special events is a sure way to increase the family's enjoyment.

4) Use Fast pass- Fast pass is a feature that allows riders to skip lines. Waiting on long lines wastes time and can be a real trip killer. Be sure to check into using fast passes and you are guaranteed to have a better trip.

5) Stay Hydrated! This is extremely important during the warmer months. Walking around in the heat all day uses a lot of energy which needs to be replaced. Not drinking water to save money is a sure fire way to end up in the hospital and ruin a good trip.
