Unappreciative Boyfriend 101?
Ive been dating my boyfriend for about a year. (1 year on the 1st of April) This weekend I wanted to just be spontaneous so i booked a really expensive hotel just for last night. I did the whole candle thing brought 4 different lingerie and put on a little bit of a show. We went to the casino (which is attached to the hotel) had a decent night. here's the problem: I was under the impression he had no idea what was going on. Little did I know, my bf snooped through my facebook messages and found my inbox message to one of my girlfriends requesting her to book this room for me. (Still dont have a credit card) When he told me he knew what was going on i was totally disappointed because i wanted to do something nice for him. That night I gave him the address to where he was supposed to meet me. I get a bitchy call from him saying he doesnt know where to park and he hung up the phone after getting there an hour and a half late. He comes to the room where i have literally, like 50 candles lit up in a gorgeous and out of this world hotel room, as Im dressed in his military top uniform with lingerie and heels on, he crosses the room looks out the window, shrugs his shoulders and says "oh, nice view" Im totally bummed at this point being like, uhm hello, im standing here, half naked, in your clothes.. Am i doing something wrong? We then go to get a bite to eat...apparently he ate, and I had to go and buy myself food. Honestly, i am the last person in the world to expect a guy to pay for me. But i figured he would be happy and excited i would do this for him and would want to reciprocate the feeling. At this point, he hasnt even said "thank you, i appreciate it babe" We go back upstairs to our room and have a few drinks. I even got a bubble bath ready and everything. He still seemed very unimpressed. Later that night, I said to him, hey how bout we go for a swim..(I couldnt find his swim trunks, so i even went out to buy him a new pair of boxers so he wouldnt have to sit in wet ones...ps. they have a heated outdoor pool) No...completely uninterested. When we got up this morning I got a bed and breakfast package so we had a wonderful breakfast and he was telling me how this was completely "random" and i just said to him "well i did this because i wanted to show you that I love you" he just smiled and what not and continued to eat breakfast. Ill be hoenst, i was expecting him to say something along the lines of "Thanks for organizing this, it was fun Im happy you did this". When he really didnt aknowledge my efforts, i was sad and bummed out. But i fought my hardest not to let it get to me. We checked out of the hotel and went back to his place where he spent 6 consecutive hours playing video games before he drove me home. As i was opening my apartment's front door he rolls down his window and verbatum says "thanks for the uhh hotel and whatever." I was so upset at this point I didnt even respond. I talked to one of my friends and she said to just refrain from responding to him for tonight/tomorrow. Hes sent me text messages, "Why are you ignoring me" and "Just gonna use me eh. Take me to the hotel and just ignore after. I see how it is." My intentions for this weekend was to do something spontaneous and fun for him because i love him. I thought that maybe he would see how much i cared for him. All i wanted was a meaningful Thank you. Hes the kind of guy that doesnt want to deal with my emotions, and getting an appology out of him is like asking for heaven to descend on earth. What should I do at this point? Should i continue to basically ignore him? should i call him and talk to him about it? I need suggestions...
